1. Types of LED Tube Lights
1.1. According to the compatibility of electronic ballasts, tube lights can be divided into type A LED tubes, type B LED tubes, and type A/B LED tubes.
UL type A LED tube: The UL type A LED tube has a built-in power supply, which is compatible with electronic ballasts. Replacing the original fluorescent light does not need to change any wiring, and it can work normally by directly swapping. Its advantage is simple installation. Its disadvantage is that it is expensive, and the LED tube light needs to be powered by an electronic ballast, so the power consumption is higher than that of the type B LED tube, and its life is restricted by the life of the electronic ballast.
UL type B LED tube: The UL type B LED tube has a built-in power supply, but it is not compatible with electronic ballasts. If it is installed on a bracket where the electronic ballast is not removed, the LED tube light will be damaged. Therefore, when replacing the traditional fluorescent lamp, the type B LED tube should be bypassed with the electronic ballast. This requires a professional electrician to operate. Compared with the type A LED tube, although the type B LED tube has a high installation cost, but the type B LED tube is low in price and more efficient than the type A LED tube.
UL type A/B LED tube: The UL type A/B LED tube is also a built-in power supply, but it is compatible with electronic ballasts and can work normally without electronic ballasts. This is great news for those who have no installation experience, because you can easily replace the original tube lamp. But its price is expensive.
1.2 According to the input voltage mode, LED tube lights can be divided into single-ended power supply and double-ended power supply.
Single-ended power supply: As the name suggests, single-ended power supply means that the N wire and L wire of input voltage are from one side of the tube light.
Double-ended power supply: Generally speaking, double-ended power supply means that the N wire and L wire of input voltage are from both side of the tube light.
1.3 According to the specifications of the plug, the commonly used LED tube lights can be divided into T5 LED tube light and T8 LED tube light.

2. How to Install LED Tube Light
According to different types of LED tube light, the installation method is different. For new tube light installation projects, it is recommended to use type B LED tube light, because its price is very competitive and its installation method is simple. You only need to install the LED tube light directly on the holder. If the fluorescent tube light is replaced with an LED, the situation will be more complicated. Here are several ways to replace fluorescent tube light with LED tube light:
First note: turn off the power before installation.
2.1 As shown in Figure 1, replace the fluorescent tube of the electronic ballast with type A LED tube, and the fluorescent tube is double-ended supply. No need to change the wiring.
2.2 As shown in Figure 2, replace the fluorescent tube of the electronic ballast with type A LED tube, and the fluorescent tube is single-ended supply. No need to change the wiring.
2.3 As shown in Figure 3, replace the fluorescent tube of the electronic ballast with type B LED tube, and the fluorescent tube is double-ended supply. Must need to change the wiring.
2.4 As shown in Figure 4, replace the fluorescent tube of the electronic ballast with type B LED tube, and the fluorescent tube is single-ended supply. Must need to change the wiring.
3. Structure of LED Tube Light
The structure of LED tube lights generally consists of five parts: plug, housing, power supply, aluminum substrate, light source.
The specifications of the plug are as follows: T4, T5, T8, T12.
The shell materials are as follows: all plastic, all glass, half aluminum and half plastic.
The power supply can be divided into: type A, type B and type A/B.
The thickness of the aluminum substrate is generally 1mm, and the thermal conductivity is 0.6, 0.8, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0. The larger the number, the better it is to transmit the heat of LED chips.
We attach the light source to the aluminum substrate and fix the aluminum substrate to the housing. Then put the power supply into the insulating sleeve, weld the positive and negative poles of the power supply output to the corresponding polarity of the aluminum substrate, and connect the two plugs to the input end of the power supply and fix them on both ends of the shell. In this way, we have completed the assembly of the LED tube.
4. What is Tube Light and How Tube Light Works?
Tube Light is a lighting device. Currently there are two types of tube lights. They are fluorescent lights and LED tube lights.

The fluorescent tube uses electricity to excite mercury vapor in argon or neon gas to form plasma and emit short-wave ultraviolet rays. After the ultraviolet rays are absorbed by the phosphor, the phosphor emits visible light for illumination. This way of emitting visible light belongs to fluorescence.

LED tube light converts AC110V or 220V voltage into DC low voltage and current through LED driver to drive LED chips fixed on PCB board, so that LED chips emit visible light and are used for lighting. 5. Advantages of LED Tube Light
- Energy saving. Compared with the traditional fluorescent tubes, energy saving is more than 100%. For example, the luminous flux of a 40W traditional fluorescent lamp is about 1600-2000lm, and the current LED tube lights have a maximum luminous efficiency of 170lm/W. Therefore, if you choose a high-efficiency LED tube, you only need a rated power of 10W; if you For cost considerations, you have chosen an LED tube light with ordinary luminous efficiency.
